“Making Malorie is a band that truly desires to show your group what worship is both on and off the stage. They constantly pursue a purity and passion for Christ personally which is evident in the songs that they write and sing. Your students and adults will benefit spiritually from being under their leadership.”

the greatest band…
…you’ve never heard of. This is a post that is about 3 years in the making, but one I feel I finally need to share. Every once in a while I get to worship with some really cool people. If I’m lucky enough I get to meet them and hear their story. If I’m really lucky I get to know them and consider them dear friends. So I’m probably a little biased when I make a statement like the one I just made; however, I will say it without hesitation with the hopes that someone actually listens.
This past weekend I got to hang out with my friends in Making Malorie. They lead worship at 24 Church just north of Nashville. I took our student praise band to have a one-on-one time with them and I walked away absolutely blessed to be ushered to the throne of grace and mercy by these guys (and lady).
One of the greatest things about Making Malorie is the fact they are unashamed of who they worship and they worship Him without restraint. Many times we find ourselves reserved in our worship of the One True God, but these guys worship without care of what others think, that’s what leading others to the Cross is all about. If worship leaders are to lead, then they have to go there first, not just point them in the right direction. MM simply isn’t the “let me get you headed in the right way” kind of band, they’re the, “I’m going there with or without you” kind of band, and that’s refreshing to see. It’s refreshing to see a group of believers care more about the God they worship then fitting in with Coldplay or The Killers.
I just want to give them a big thanks for what they do. This post isn’t meant to be a sappy suck-up in hopes of getting a free t-shirt, it’s simply a genuine thank you for leading the way. If you ever get a chance to visit 24 Church, take it, and worship.
So…Nathan, Matt, Jenna, Josh, Logan, and Jon – Thanks for letting God lead you so you can lead us. I’m grateful to know you and grateful to be able to c all you family!
